The overall goal and development route for energy saving of refrigeration products were proposed.

The requirements for household air conditioners are:

First, improve the energy efficiency level, and the access level reaches or exceeds that of developed countries;

Second, improve the energy efficiency system and merge the energy efficiency standards of fixed-frequency and variable-frequency air conditioners.

The new national standard puts forward higher requirements for air conditioning energy consumption and is the most stringent energy efficiency standard to date.

There is no longer a separate assessment system for fixed-frequency and variable-frequency (speed controllable) air conditioners; the energy efficiency grade classification is changed from three to five, and the energy consumption access threshold has been raised.

The country is promoting energy conservation and emission reduction policies, and the requirements for energy efficiency levels are constantly increasing. Under the influence of the policy, the domestic air-conditioning energy efficiency standards will continue to improve in the future, which will inevitably promote enterprises to upgrade their technology.
